We love to talk about finding what is next, but our collective focus is incredibly narrow. Pop pulls in 20.35% of our scout attention share across 361 artists, yet its performance heat sits at a moderate 77.8. Meanwhile, southern hip hop and country are absolutely blazing with identical 84.6 heatmap scores, yet they register a flat 0% in our scout attention proxy. We are looking the other way while these sectors cook.
The rap subgenres we are leaving behind
It is not just country. The mismatch list is heavily populated by rap subgenres that are putting up massive numbers with zero scout eyes on them.
