We are tracking a highly concentrated group of high-potential artists this week. Out of 2,715 catalog entries, only 12 artists cleared our scout score of 80 or higher. But look at where they land: neo-soul and contemporary r&b are massively over-indexing, commanding a huge share of the pool compared to their tiny footprint in the wider catalog.

Where the heat is actually concentrating
Let's look past the sheer volume of the catalog. While we have over 2,700 artists in the system, our scout pool is incredibly tight at just 12. If you are signing based on raw volume, you are missing the signal. Neo-soul and contemporary r&b are punching way above their weight class. Neo-soul represents 25% of the high-potential pool despite making up less than 6% of the broader catalog. That is a 4.2x multiplier on talent density. Contemporary r&b is showing a similar story, indexing at 4.8x.

Navigating the score bands
Looking at the distribution, the competition at the very top is fierce. Only one artist managed to score above 90 this week, while the rest of the pool is tightly packed in the 80-89 range. Five artists are currently flagged for rapid acceleration. In a market where everyone is chasing the same top-tier hype, the real leverage is in these mid-80s performers who are quietly building momentum without the bidding war.
